We rose at 2:00am to hike up Mt. Batur to catch the sun rising above a steaming volcano crater. At the crater's edge a pack of wild dogs battled for territory with a troop of monkeys. When the monkeys got done kicking some doggie butt they swung over to steal food and water from the visiting humans! Made with iMovie on an iPhone 6 Plus.

Learning how to fly a Cessna over Melbourne, Australia. Flying a small aircraft feels like balancing an egg whilst you're inside it. im glad you recovered, i had a facial paralysis about 9 or 10 years ago, the mistake i made is that was ashamed of myself to a point where i didn't wanted to leave my house or meet people anymore, and my decision gone ever worse when i decided to move to our farm house where i stayed for nearly a year not talking to anyone but my grandparents, i got into a depression and refused all kind of medication or therapy as i had enough of doctors after a long battle with the cancer that actually caused it, and when i got back to my senses and wanted to cure myself and get better i found out that it was too late, now 10 years later i regret it every time i look at the mirror, as this has caused me to miss on huge career opportunities, morale of the story is don't be a coward like i was, face it and get better .

    • @LivingAnExaminedLife
      @LivingAnExaminedLife 7 месяцев назад

      I'm so sorry to read your story. If it helps you to know, I don't think your decisions changed the outcome. The only two things that MIGHT have helped would have been steroids taken immediately within the first few days after symptoms onset and/or surgical decompression of the facial-cranial nerve within the first 30 days or so, which would have been extremely difficult to obtain (even in the United States) as very few surgeons know how to do it or offer the procedure. About 25% of Bell's palsy cases do not fully resolve, so continued paralysis is, unfortunately, a common outcome for many patients. The important thing is not to beat yourself up about the unknowable and try to focus on the things that are going well in life.

    This gives me hope! I'm now at DAY 29 with Bell's Palsy. Yesterday when I was washing my face, I noticed I can close my eyes naturally (not forcing one shut) MILESTONE! I also had pain in my jaw. I got annoyed that 2 doctors said - you're not supposed to have pain, just take Ibuprofen. That didn't work for me. I had to go back to urgent care when a nurse practitioner gave me prescription strength Naproxen. Pain went away in 3 days.

      @@NazimAli-ug3bo as far as i remember, it was june26. when i brushed my teeth, when i spit the water, it was scattered, not straight aiming to the sink. i didnt bothered that. when i had lunch, i couldnt taste anything and i was worried already. so when i was in duty, i looked at the mirror and i noticed that my smile was crooked. thats when i got worried and searched on google about bells palsy. on the next day, i went to see a doctor. the doctor said, i should have went to see him on that day, not today. so the doctor arranged an appointment with a therapist to give me 5days face massage, he also gave me medications for a week. thank God all were covered with my insurance. the first 30days, i only had oats for breakfast, salads for lunch and dinner. if i feel hungry, i had dates and mixed nuts. diet was not easy but i lost 5kgs after 30days. also i do face massage by myself 3x a day u better do face massage to recover faster. dont forget to blow a balloon as part of the exercise

    I found this video super super helpful. I’m a similar timeframe and outcome (and basically did the exact same things- got on steroids early, acupuncture, vitamin b. was also told to not do physio and massage to the face as it’s a nerve issue not a muscle issue, but speak to your doctor/specialist) NOTE: for the first two weeks there was basically little improvement and then the third week I have gone from almost no movement to 80% being back I’d say. Don’t despair if you don’t see much improvement soon. Be patient with yourself.
